Learning to Navigate Moods - Teams

There is not much that we can do all alone. But sometimes moods like anxiety, overwhelm, insecurity, distrust, or resignation prevent us from even seeing the possibility of coordinating and co-inventing with our colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders. Instead of engaging in effective conversations, we are more likely to grow distant and more pessimistic about our ability to work with others.

This course is a transformative learning journey designed to cultivate participants’ ability to navigate their moods, as individuals, but also as a team.

“The most effective program I've found to make lasting improvements to an executive's leadership skills, particularly in a diverse, distributed and fast-changing workplace.”

— Dan H., CEO

  • Although this program is brief, it is designed as the start of a transformative learning journey in which we anticipate you will continue to engage and gain proficiency. Course graduates report they experience greater confidence and serenity in their everyday lives, and are better able to identify conversations they could instigate and actions they could take to better care for what concerns them. Over the course of the program you will learn to:

    1. Better recognize moods and how they may be influencing you.

    2. Reflect on your moods and identify actions that you could take to care for matters to you.

    3. Cultivate moods more conducive to accomplishing what you aim accomplish in specific situations.

    4. Review challenges and opportunities arising in practice

  • Over a period of 10 weeks your team will become acquainted with the fundamentals of navigating moods and be introduced to a set of practices designed to cultivate awareness of moods in action. Each team member will also meet with a Plural coach every 7 – 10 days throughout the program.

In addition, the team participates in five group meetings led by a senior member of the Plural team. These meetings are designed to support participants to practice as a team, reflect together on moods present in specific work-related situations, and explore actions that they could take to address what they identify as important.

During the program each team member will have access to:

    1. Course Materials. Each course is designed as a sequence of carefully crafted modules which include short readings and videos, as well as questions aligned with the course’s learning objectives.

    2. Exercises. In addition to real life exercises, participants have access to exclusive Plural Gyms which feature exercises for honing coordination skills and sensibilities, as well as exercises that support participants to navigate restrictive moods that commonly emerge when working with others (e.g. resignation, distrust and overwhelm), and cultivate more expansive moods – like confidence, resolution and trust.

    3. One on one Coaching. Participants are assigned a Plural coach that is qualified to aid them to reflect on their learning, explore real life situations, and identify opportunities for them to practice in real life scenarios.
